Well finals over and done with, Kieran Morris going into 200 breast final as 8th fastest and finishing 7th , with another pb. The last swim for the Dragons went to Taliesin Davies in the senior 50 fly final going in as 5th fastest and finishing 5th. A quick breakdown of the meet reads as follows 37 swims with 31 pb’s SUPERB! 6 finalist’s Kieran Morris 7th 200 breast, Tali Davies 8th, 100 back 5th, 50 back and 5th, 50 Fly. Charlotte Harrower 6th 100 back and 2nd 50 back and not sure if already mentioned silver medal. On another note for those that recall the presentation night with Dan JONES presenting the trophies Dan has had 3 swims 50, 100, and 200 free winning 3 golds,.Congratulations Dan from the Dragons. A great day so far for the Dragons at Welsh Nationals 6 swimmers competing in 12 swims all swims Long course pb’s. The senior boys Taliesin Davies and Kieran Morris both doubled up in 100 free and 50 back with Tali going through to this evenings finals as 5th fastest in 50 back. The junior swimmers not to be out done raised the bar themselves Ethan Evans swimming out of age pb’s in 100 free 200 IM and 50 back. Alex kokic qualifying for nationals for first time hit a 1 second pb in 50 back when he has not been able to train because of illness, great determination Alex. The attached at the hip girls then decided to show the boys they were not going to be outdone with Aaliyah Robbins hitting a 1 second pb in 100 free and pb in 50 back. Charlotte Harrower then threw in a 2.5 second pb in 100 free and also hit pb in 50 back to progress to her final as 3rd fastest. A great day so far and fingers crossed for Tali and Charlotte. Well first day of Welsh Nationals underway at Swansea the Dragons only have one swimmer today but numbers increase over the weekend. Aaliyah Robins competed in 200 back and 400 free gaining long course pb’s in both swims well done Aaliyah, and oh funnily enough the swim of the day goes to Aaliyah for the 400 free with a good long course pb. The number of Dragons increases tomorrow with both Tali Davies and Kieran Morris going in the senior age groups and Aaliyah being joined by Charlotte Harrower in the junior age group. A real good days swimming at Wrexham Crystal meet and big well done to Bob Rogers and his team for a well run meet. 29 young dragons taking part many in their first event or stepping up to 100m races for the first time. Elin Evans, Madison Griffiths, Maisie Ralphs, Ella Weir,Violet Jones, Alyssa Nash, Jodi Kynaston, Louis Jones, John Atkinson, Ellie Hughes, Harrison Vernon, and Leon Northall to name a few all had great swims putting times on the system for future events, big well done to all you young dragons. Of the more experienced swimmers some great pb’s being achieved with Harri Wilks taking 17 seconds off his times in 4 swims. Again numerous others hit good pb’s Ysabel Lewthwaite, Lara Eardley, Abi Pritchard, Holly Pemberton, Rhona Williams, Aaliyah Robins, Kelsey Nash, Joe Pritchard, Ethan Evans, Joshua Davies, Ben Northall and Luke Evans all getting good pb’s. I have to mention Rebecca Davies who through illness has struggled to train properly for some time but is on the up and hit several multiple second pb’s Well Done Becca!!! I have probably missed others out so will apoligise in advance. With so many great swims I have decided to go for swim of each session as follows Morning session Alyssa Nash 8 second pb in 100 IM. Afternoon session Harri Wilks 8 second pb in 200 IM, Evening session Holly Pemberton 8 second pb in 100 Fly. Well day one of the Conway Autumn meet started with the 100 free and the Chirk dragon lads hit the ground running 11 swims 9 pbs with Dyfan Jones smashing his pb by 3 second hitting a 55.56. The day continued in the same way with numerous 3 to 5 second pb,s. others hitting good pb,s included Joshua Davies 7 secs in 200 Breast, Kelsey Nash, 8 secs in 200 IM but swim of the first day went to Alistair Moss, returning to competition after having a broken arm with a 11 sec pb in 200 Free. First day was 77 swims with 57 pb,s a Big Well Done dragons The COACH.
Day two of the Autumn meet brought bigger and better Pb’s in the girls 100 free there was 11 swims 9 Pb’s with 3, 4 and 6 secs Pb’s for Ysabel Lewthwaite, Rhona Williams, Abi Pritchard and little Aimee Davies. 4 of the girl dragons competed in the 800 Free all 4 hitting great Pb’s of 19, 20, 31 and 50 seconds for Aaliyah Robins, Maddy Selby, Claudia Savage and Holly Pemberton respectively. The same 4 plus Cari Davies then all Pb’d in 400 Free, and again in 200 Free. Great swimming. Alistair Moss hit a 15 sec pb in 200 Back, but the swim of today has to go to Kieran Morris with a 38 second pb in 400 IM. Well done to all that attended, numerous with 100 % pb’s. Today was 89 swims 66 Pb’s over the two days a 75 percentage of pb’s. A big thank you to Olwen Catherall for another well ran event. The COACH.

Well the penultimate day has come and gone only 3 Dragons going into battle today. In the morning session Ethan Evans had the 200 free and carried on how he has done most of the week with a small pb. The afternoon session was left to the EVANS boys firstly Ethan swimming a nice heat in the 200 fly just missing his pb but progressing to the final as 6th fastest. The elder brother Luke then took to the arena for his 400m free gaining a large long course pb. Between both Dyfan Jones and Ethan Evans and a relay team apart from last night the club has had a finalist in every session a great effort Dragons. In the 200 Fly final little Ethan upped his game finishing 6th in the final but swam a 6 second pb. He is now going off for a well earned steak. As is the coach. Just 1 day left and 1 swimmer to go Cari Davies in the 200 free who assures me that a pb is on offer. Bring it on The COACH.

Well 5 days into a week long meet and yes the coach maybe flagging however the Dragons keep performing.
Day started with Dyfan Jones doing a 3/4 of a second pb in 100 free at 58 seconds. The next swimmer up was Luke Evans who just missed out on a pb before the 3 amigos of Ethan Evans. Josh Davies and Tom Vernon stepped forward to take part in the 400 free. Tom Vernon who after a month of not being in the pool prefering to go scuba diving around the world and holidaying in exotic places just missed out on his pb but did much better than the coach was hoping for. Josh Davies did well to get a 2 second long course pb and Ethan Evans wacked in a 17 second pb in his 400m. 2 days to go and still going really well. The COACH.

Another good day today at the Nationals, day started with Ethan Evans breaking 70 seconds for first time soon followed by Ben Northall swimming a 2.5 second pb in 100 free. Next up was Luke Evans who swam a long course pb soon followed by Dyfan Jones with a 1 second pb in 50 free and making the final. The next swimmer into battle was Cari Davies who swam a good pb in the 50 free. Next person to swim was Ethan Evans in the 400 IM who swam a 19 second pb which has to go down as swim of the day. Another really good day for the Dragons. The day started with Dyfan Jones pb in 100 back reaching the final as 6th fastest. There was more pb’s from Ethan Evans, Kieran Morris and Ben Northall in the 100 back. The afternoon saw Ben Nothall hitting a great pb in 50 breast with other good swims from Kieran Morris and Cari Davies returning to form in the 800 free. In the Final of the Backstroke Dyfan Jones went another .2 quicker than his earlier swim to finish 6th in the final. Keep it going Dragons. The COACH.

Another good day at Summer nationals. The day commenced with Ben Northall and kieran Morris both doing long course pb’s in 200 breast. The afternoon session saw 5 dragons lining up for the 50 fly Ethan Evans, Tom Vernon, Kieran Morris Dyfan Jones and Owen Jones with 3 pbs achieve with ethan Evans and Dyfan Jones both making finals as 8th and 7th fastest. Both above finishing 6th in there finals. The swim of the day has to go to the 14 and under 200 free relay team of Kieran Morris. Ben Northall Josh Davies and Tom Vernon who battled all 4 legs. All 4 swimmers doing pb’s. Finishing 3rd however was top Welsh team.. Great swim lads. One happy coach out rehydrating. The COACH.

A good first day at Summer Nationals just. 5 swims today Luke Evans missing out on pb in 200 back but hitting a long course pb in 1500 free finishing 13th but 7th fastest 15yr old. Ethan Evans going long course pb in 50 free and 3 second pb in 100 fly to make the final just missing a pb in final to finish 8th. Kieran Morris after his illness stiill hitting a good pb in 50 free. Good third day at Cardiff International at the end of a long 3 days total of 72% of pb’s final day was started with Ethan Evans 2 second pb to make 10th spot in final. He was soon followed with pbs from Ben Northall and Dyfan Jones. There were good swims just missing pb’s from the Luke and Luc who are both in exam mode. The next swimmer was young Aimee Davies who had a great controlled swim and pb in the 100 back. Another exam revision swimmer Catherine Parsonage had good swims in 100 back and 100 fly.
As the day progressed Tom Vernon had a good pb in the 400 free. Into the Finals with Ethan Evans going in as 10th fastest but hit another pb to finish 7th. A great end to a very good weekend. Swim of the day could have gone to a number of swimmers Ethan or Tom but today goes to Ben Northall for his 100 free.

Update from Cardiff after day two of the International meet. Both days have seen some excellent swimming with numerous Internationals and the top age groupers from around Britain looking for British times has meant the level of competition is very high. The young Dragons however raised there performance. Day one started with young Ethan Evans in the 200 fly who swam away to a Silver Medal a great acheivement at this sort of meet. The youngsters of Tom Vernon Ben Northall Luke Evans and Dyfan Jones all achieved pb’s with the older swimmers of Catherine Parsonage and Cari Davies also hitting Pb’s. Luc Jarzynski and Owen Jones just missed out on pb’s but that was no surprise with most of the older swimmers concentrating on there exams at the moment. The rest of the day continued in the same way good pb’s The swim of the day on day one has to go to Luke Evans and 3 secon pb in 100 back.
Day two was more of the same the youngsters hitting lots of pbs Ethan Evans making the final of the 100 fly. Finishing 6th fastest. Luke Evans and Tom Vernon hitting 100 % pb’s also entering the Arena for her first swim in a 50m pool was 9yr old Aimee Davies who did a great swim in the 50 back. The swim of the day on day 2 has to go to Tom Vernon in the 200 free who as a alternative swimmers was giving a older faster heat but swam a 3 second pb behind the other swimmers. Well done to all the swimmers and bring on day three.
