The Committee

Head Coach - Steve Parker
I coached for 12 years at other swimming clubs before joining Chirk Dragons in September 2007. At these previous clubs I have taken swimmers to both County Championship winners and National Qualifier standards.
My responsibility is the yearly coaching plans to get the swimmers to the peak of competition for their main goals, setting the programmes to each individual needs.
My role is correcting and highlighting faults with the swimmers stroke technique, taking into account what I believe each swimmer can achieve and, picking the right events for them to compete in. This sometimes has to take into account the Team benefit at Gala’s being the foremost decision on who does which event as other clubs will do.
I am in my final stages of completing my level 2 swimming coaching qualification.
